No we are not performing star formation, we are simply doing a little set up that’s easy for anyone to do.

I began by building a proper rig to keep my blacklight raised at a consistent level so each exposure would stay consistent. I used a blacklight from wlamart. There are dedicated uv lamps for cyanotypes but this worked very well for the price. The tinfoil was my girlfriend’s idea and ensures as much of the light hits the print and doesn’t bleed out.

Next I made sure my transparency was placed on top of my sensitizerd cyanotype paper along with a pane of glass to ensure the image was flat to the paper and focused.

The resulting Cyanotypes. Overall I am incredibly happy with this set up. As we enter winter it becomes increasingly harder to do this outside witht he sun. From overcast to actual tempature preventing me from going outside!
I will poost the results later this week so you all can enjoy them!
